Lady Gaga Mortified As Dad Starts Crowdfunding & Layoff Almost 30 Employees

Lady Gaga's father had to lay off nearly 30 workers before they could reopen – despite his 'Stupid Love' hitmaker daughter worth an estimated $275million

Lady Gaga was reportedly embarrassed after hearing that her father had launched a crowdfunding campaign to help pay his workers in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Joe Germanotta’s New York City restaurant Joanne Trattoria has had to shut down as COVID-19 outbreak.

Yet the closure left workers facing an unstable situation, with the GoFundMe campaign reporting that the restaurant had to lay off nearly 30 staff before they were able to reopen – despite the estimated $275 million worth of his ‘Stupid Love’ hitmaker daughter.

Germanotta posted on Twitter, “I’m doing the best I can but we had to close Joanne for the month. Our staff needs some help financially. Any help for our employees will be appreciated.” But a surprised Gaga, 34, apparently didn’t realize what her 64-year-old  father was up to when he begged the public to contribute $50,000 to cover his restaurants’ staff’s salaries.

The artist, who according to Forbes received $39.5 million in 2019, reportedly had “no idea” of her father making the public plea, according to a source from PageSix.
