Kiran Kumar Reveals: ‘My B And C-Grade Films Paved The Way For My Dream House; Only The Pillars Cost Rs 44 Lakhs’

Kiran talked about playing roles in 'B' and 'C' grade films, which helped him realize his dream of building a house.

‘Kiran Kumar’ is credited as one of the finest on-screen villains in Bollywood. An alumnus of the ‘Film and Television Institute of India,’ he made his debut in ‘Do Boond Paani’ in 1971 and briefly played lead roles in films. His negative roles in movies like ‘Tezaab’ and ‘Khudgarz’ were highly appreciated, and his performance in Govinda’s film ‘Sandwich’ revived his anti-hero image in 2006. The actor has appeared in more than 150 films and is well-known for his roles in popular television shows such as ‘Ghutan,’ ‘Waaris,’ and ‘Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai.’

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Kiran talked about playing roles in ‘B’ and ‘C’ grade films, which helped him realize his dream of building a house. He also mentioned that he avoided discussing the ups and downs of his career with his wife. Even if she was dissatisfied with his artistic creativity, the actor would return home with a smile.

Kumar stated, “So, whenever I used to bring my per-day earnings home, my heart would be broken, but I would give it to her with a smile on my face.” He pointed towards the pillars in his house, mentioning that each one cost Rs. 4 lakh. “And there are 11 in total. Just the pillars in my house have cost Rs. 44 lakh.”

The actor revealed that he built the house during a difficult phase in his career. “It took me six years to build this house. I kept saving money. When I got paid, I would spend it on one part of the house. All of this became possible because of my work in B and C-grade films. I will never denounce them because they helped me meet life’s necessities. I’m as proud of those films as I am of ‘Khudgarz,’ ‘Tezaab,’ and ‘Khuda Gawah.'”

Regarding his family’s reaction to his work in ‘B’ and ‘C’ grade films, Kiran elaborated, “When you share good news with your family, they will join in your happiness. But when you’re working only for money, as I did on some films, then you retreat into your own zone. It’s not a negative zone, but it’s like your heart isn’t able to accept what you’re doing. And if you tell your wife how you’re feeling, she will become upset.”

The son of the veteran actor ‘Jeevan,’ Kiran Kumar was last seen in the film ‘Bholaa’ starring Ajay Devgan and ‘Sukhee’ starring Shilpa Shetty. The actor has also showcased his work in numerous Gujarati and Bhojpuri movies.
