Kim Kardashian Breaks Silence On Kanye West’s Bipolar Disorder Diagnosis; Asks for ‘Compassion’

Kim Kardashian replied with an emotional statement after yet another night of disturbing tweets from Kanye West but she is 'supporting' her 'complicated' husband.

The post from the reality TV star and makeup mogul Kim Kardashian comes days after the rapper Kanye West discussed their 7-year-old daughter North West during an emotional anti-abortion speech at his first political rally and went on to share a series of tweets about the Kardashian family that had been deleted since.

“As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she began her post.

Kim clarified that she has never publicly talked about his mental health in an attempt to protect her husband and the privacy of their four children. She said, however, that “the stigma and misconceptions about mental health” prompted her to speak out.

Since Kanye is not a minor, she said she was left “powerless” in getting support from her husband  “no matter how hard family and friends try.”

Referring to Kanye as a “brilliant and complicated person” capable of generating “strong opinions and emotions,”  the founder of SKIMS clarified that the stress and anxiety of becoming a Black artist, the loss of his mother Donda West in 2007, and loneliness during the pandemic all took a toll on the mental health of the musician.

At the end of her statement, Kim asked the public and media to offer “compassion and empathy” to her family, and thanked those who “expressed concern for Kanye’s well being.”

Previously Kanye West had opened up about his own mental health and disclosed his condition on his 2018 album “Ye.”

The rapper also described his stories of manic episodes with David Letterman during an episode of Netflix’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction”

“When you’re in this state, you’re hyper-paranoid about everything. Everyone. This is my experience. Some people have other experiences. Everyone now is an actor. Everything is a conspiracy. You see everything. You feel the government is putting chips in your head. You feel you’re being recorded. You feel all of these things,” he told Letterman.

Fans have become extremely worried about Kanye ‘s online actions, particularly given that the Grammy-winning rapper has been coming up about his diagnosis of bipolar disorder in 2018. His comedian and friend Dave Chappelle even chose to fly out on July 21 to see Kanye and “check on him”

In a May 2019 interview with Vogue, Kim mentioned about Kanye ‘s illness, saying, “For him, being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is.” The couple share daughter North, son Saint West, 4, daughter Chicago West, 2 and son Psalm West, 1.
