Kate Winslet is a well-known Hollywood icon. The actress made her first screen appearance, at age 15, was in the British television series Dark Season. Kate then made her film debut playing a teenage murderess in Heavenly Creatures and went on to win a BAFTA Award for playing Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility.
However, Winslet gained global fame with her leading role in the epic 1997 romance Titanic which was the highest-grossing film at the time. Since then she has appeared in several movies and taken home tons of accolades. Kate most recently appeared in James Cameron’s movie, Avatar: The Way Of Water. However, apart from Kate Winslet’s role in Avatar sequel, there’s a viral interview that has grasped the world’s celebrities’ attention.
A video from the latest interview has been shared on People’s magazine’s social media account. In the video, Winslet talked about the film industry preferring younger actresses over older ones. Kate shared, “I had some great role models, but I don’t feel I ever had people consistently looking out for me.” Titanic star continues, “Whereas now, we are consistently looking out for the younger actors.”
She further said, “So any of that, you know, white noise in your head that says you shouldn’t be here and you don’t have the right and there’s going to be someone better, forget it. It’s you, and we all are excited to see what you’re going to do.” Avatar actress added, “And it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes because you learn from your mistakes.”
Kate explained, “So being an older actor who’s able to share those little pieces of wisdom that I’ve hopefully gathered along the way, I’m really appreciating that moment because I feel like I’ve kind of earned the right to step into it. Just getting to choose, when I can switch off.”

Kate Winslet has newly joined the Avatar franchise as Na’vi warrior Ronal. The second movie, titled Avatar 2: The Way of Water, has brought back much of the original cast including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang but also added Kate and Vin Diesel.
However, according to the IMDb page, Avatar 2 plot synopsis reads, ‘Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.’ The trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water was released just a month before the film hit theatres on December 16.
