Jab We Met 2: Parineeti Chopra-Diljit Dosanjh To Replace Kareena-Shahid? Imtiaz Ali Reveals

In a recent interview, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali opened up about the idea of making a sequel of his film, "Jab We Met".

Imtiaz Ali recently mused about a hypothetical sequel to the beloved film “Jab We Met,” suggesting that if he were to create one, he would cast Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh.

The original film, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, was a massive success, earning praise from both fans and critics and attaining cult status in the romantic comedy genre. Despite Ali’s repeated denial of any plans for a sequel, the enduring popularity of the film keeps the question alive.

Talking about Jab We Met’s success Imtiaz Ali told India Today, “When the film was re-released in theatres last year, people really gave a lot of love. I was shooting in Punjab and I would hear that the audiences are dancing in cinema halls etc. For one minute I would have that feeling, I wish I was there. Now it’s been 16 years, and I feel that the film is not mine, it’s the audience’s film and they celebrate it. I look at ‘Jab We Met’ like an old friend rather than my own film now.”

The filmmaker revealed that he doesn’t want to make a sequel of the film, he added, “I wouldn’t want to make a sequel of ‘Jab We Met’ because I feel that it’s complete in itself. I haven’t thought of ever making a sequel to that film.”

However, when asked who he would have liked to cast if he ever made “Jab We Met 2”, Imtiaz Ali revealed, “Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra for sure.”
