IFFI Goa 2019: 76 countries and 26 feature and 15 non-feature films to be screened

26 feature and 15 non-feature films in the Indian Panorama section will be screened during the coming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2019.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced that around two hundred films from 76 countries- 26 feature and 15 non-feature films in the Indian Panorama section will be screened during the coming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2019 which will take place at Goa during 20 November to 28 November this year.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who recently received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award will be honoured for his impactful films at the festival too.

“Dadasaheb Phalke award winner Amitabh Bachchan’s outstanding contribution to cinema will be honoured and celebrated through a package of his impactful and entertaining films in the 50th edition,” said the Minister.

“Since visually impaired people can’t experience the film in full as they can only hear the dialogues, the festival will also have the screening of one film which will have narrations recorded for the gaps. This is a new initiative for visually impaired people so that they can enjoy films for the fullest,” he added further.

The jury has been headed by ace filmmaker Priyadarshan this year. A Gujarati film, helmed by Abhishek Shah Hellaro has been chosen as the opening feature film at the festival.
