Honor V30 Pro leaked image shows off quad camera setup, chevron finish

Honor V30 Pro is set to launch in China on November 26 touting quad cameras and possibly the new Kirin 990 5G SoC.

It’s that time of the year when Honor gears up to launch a new flagship phone that will look to set a benchmark for the coming year. It’s easy to forget that the Honor V20 was one of the first smartphones to tout a punch-hole display and 48MP camera back in December 2018, which have since become mainstream. Honor will now be launching its successor, the Honor V30 and V30 Pro, soon and some promo videos along with a leaked image gives us a fair idea of what to expect as far as design is concerned.

Honor V30 series is set to launch on November 26 in China. A new leaked image was spotted on Chinese social media site Weibo, showing what looks like the back of the Honor V30 Pro model. We say it is the Pro model because the standard Honor V30 is expected to come with triple cameras. The image here, however, shows a quad camera setup with three sensors placed vertically and an additional sensor on top of the LED flash.

The image also reveals a V-shaped finish on what is expected to be a glass panel, which is similar to the Honor V20. There is no fingerprint sensor on the back of the Honor V30 Pro and it seems the company has moved it to the side of the frame based on the image. This further suggests that there won’t be an in-display fingeprint sensor and that Honor will be sticking to LCD displays on the V30 series.

Some teasers have already confirmed that the Honor V30 will continue to sport a punch-hole display like its predecessor. However, unlike the Honor V20 that offers a small hole cutout for a single selfie camera, the Honor V30 will get a wider, pill-shaped cutout to house dual selfie cameras much like the cutout on the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

Honor is yet to reveal the specs of the Honor V30 and V30 Pro, but we can speculate that the flagships will be powered by the new Kirin 990 5G SoC. The chipset was announced at IFA 2019 in September and later made its debut in the Huawei Mate 30 series. The company will likely reveal a few features of the Honor V30 in the days leading up to its launch on November 26. The company has also teased a special Honor V30 Pro 5G Aston Martin edition that will be announced alongside the regular version. Honor V30 may launch in India as the Honor View 30.
