The show and the actors have had a huge impact on the audience to date. Consider Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram, and Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Maa Sita. Their performances made people see God in them, and the audience’s love for them knew no bounds. However, did you know that Dipika appeared in B-Grade films before getting a much-loved show? Scroll down below!

According to several reports, Dipika made her acting debut as the lead actress in 1983 with Meri Laila opposite Raj Kiran. After gaining recognition from her debut film and good responses from the audience, she played small roles in big projects like Bhagwan Dada and Kala Dhanda in 1986. Seeking more opportunities, she became a B-grade leading lady in films like ‘Cheekh’ and ‘Raat Ke Andhere Mein’.

But later, after being recognised as Sita Mata, Deepika thought that she would get a chance to work with many big stars in Bollywood. When she played the leading lady opposite superstar Rajesh Khanna in the 90s, her career slowly started going downhill slowly because the filmmakers did not want to cast her because they did not want to spoil the image of Sita Mata among the audience.
