Complaint Filed Against Ranbir Kapoor For His Viral ‘Jai Matadi’ Video

A complaint was filed against Ranbir Kapoor and his family for their viral cake cutting video. The complaint was filed for "hurting religious sentiments".

Animal actor Ranbir Kapoor recently grabbed the headlines after a video of the actor celebrating Christmas with his family members went viral, in which Ranbir was seen saying “Jai Mata Di” as he lighted a cake that was drenched in alcohol. The video soon went viral and ignited criticism from the netizens who slammed the actor.

Following the controversy, now a complaint was filed at a Mumbai police station on Wednesday against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments over their viral video celebrating Christmas.

As per the reports, the complaint was filed by a person named, Sanjay Tiwari at Ghatkopar police station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra. The complaint read, “In Hinduism, the fire god is invoked before invoking other deities, but Ranbir Kapoor and his family members deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of another religion and chanted Jai Mata Di”.

Meanwhile, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the case yet.

The Christmas party featuring the Kapoors was held at the late actor Shashi Kapoor’s residence. The party was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Agastya Nanda, Navya Nanda, Aadar Jain with his girlfriend, Armaan Jain, and others.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently riding the box office success of his film, Animal. Animal has crossed the 500cr mark domestically. Apart from Animal Ranbir is speculated to be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s film, Ramayana alongside Sai Pallavi and KGF actor Yash. However, the official confirmation is still awaited.
