In a head-to-head clash at the box office this Friday, “Dream Girl 2” and “Akelli” battled for audience attention, resulting in Ayushmann Khurrana’s film emerging as the clear winner over Nushrratt Bharuccha’s “Akelli.”

On the earnings front, “Dream Girl 2” managed to capture a significant lead, amassing an impressive Rs 9.7 crore on its debut day. In contrast, “Akelli” collected a relatively modest sum of Rs 20 lakh, as per Sachnik’s report.

“Dream Girl 2” takes viewers on a captivating journey following Karam’s transformation into a woman named Pooja due to life’s unpredictable twists. The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa, all contributing to the film’s engaging storyline.

On the other side of the spectrum, “Akelli,” skillfully directed by Pranay Meshram, presents an intense narrative woven around Joyti, portrayed by Nushrratt Bharuccha. This ordinary Indian girl becomes the epicenter of a harrowing battle for survival within a dangerous combat zone, forming the core of the thrilling drama. Alongside Bharuccha, the movie features a talented ensemble cast including Nishant Dahiya, Rajesh Jais, Tsahi Halevi, and Amir Boutrous, each weaving their threads into the intricate fabric of the storyline. Released on August 25th this year, “Akelli” embarked on its cinematic journey against formidable competition, striving to carve a distinctive niche amidst other established contenders vying for audience appreciation.

In this intriguing box office battle, “Dream Girl 2” undeniably took the lead with its substantial earnings, overshadowing “Akelli.” While both films presented unique narratives, it’s clear that Ayushmann Khurrana’s film succeeded in capturing the audience’s interest and emerged as the box office champion for the weekend.
