Notably, in recent days, four individuals from her bureau had tested positive, after which, she said in her video message, she also stepped through the exam for COVID-19 and turned out positive.

Her sickness comes amid Bolivia preparing for a general political decision in under two months, despite the furious Coronavirus Pandemic. Up to this point, the nation, which has a population of 11 million (1.1 crores), has recorded an aggregate of about 43,000 positive cases including more than 1,500 passing.

The 53-year-old Anez assumed interim presidency November after then-occupant Evo Morales surrendered and fled the nation following three weeks of distress over his disputable re-appointment.

Morales had represented an expected fourth continuous term despite the constitution constraining a President to two progressive orders.
