Ariana DeBose gave a sweet reaction to meeting Morgan Freeman is likely one that many would react to if they were in a similar situation. The West Side Story star shared a video from Live with Kelly and Ryan on her social media, showing her being blindsided by the Invictus actor as he walks past her at the 95th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday.
In the video, DeBose freezes as her mouth drops when she sees Freeman, initially shocking the Oscar winner. “I really respect and love you, sir,” she continues before shaking her hand. “And my name is Ariana and it’s nice to meet you.”

“How are you, Ariana?” The Dark Knight actor responds and explains how to pronounce her name. After the interaction, DeBose walks away, obviously delighted to have met someone she admires. When the Oscar-winning actress shared the pictures on her social media on Monday, she added the caption: “Healthy moments only. It was an honor to meet you, sir!”
This isn’t the first time the actress has had a moment to go viral on social media. In February, DeBose presented an original rap at the 2023 BAFTA awards ceremony, in which he paid tribute to nominated actresses such as Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

After seeing the viral reaction at the time, DeBose chimed in, saying, “The internet is wild! Appreciate all the love” The infamous circle then came full when Bassett was named Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards. As the actress took the stage, she quipped, “I think Angela Bassett did it!”
