Anuradha Paudwal Revealed An Interesting Fact About The 1990 Superhit Movie Aashiqui.

Playback singer Anuradha Paudwal was one of the best-known female playback singers in the Hindi film industry in the 80s and 90s. Anuradha debuted as a playback singer in the  1973 movie Abhimaan  (Amitabh Bachchan starrer). But she did not get much popularity.

As an established singer When the music of the film Aashiqui was released, it became popular within no time. It established Anuradha Paudwal as a successful playback singer. After this, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi and Sadak were released in 1991, which was very successful. Several other albums released at that time made her an established singer and she was often given priority over the Mangeshkar sisters. [25] At the peak of her career, she decided to sing exclusively for T-Series.

Aashiqui’s album was created before the film’s production. The film’s producer was Gulshan Kumar. Paudwal says that he had the music of the song and went to different lyricists to get the words. She adds that she and Kumar were very angry when one lyricist used double-meaning words in the music. “We were really upset because it changed the character of the music,” Paudwal says. Later on, Sameer, Rani Mallik, and Madan Pal wrote the lyrics for the music. The songs of the album were a huge success and they are still popular to this day. Kumar Sanu sang most of the songs in the album. The music of Nadeem and Shravan won many awards.

The veteran singer further said that it was challenging to get a director for the movie. However, Mahesh Bhatt came on board and agreed to direct the film. Aashiqui became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time. It starred Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal in lead roles. Anuradha Paudwal is an award-winning singer who has won the National Film Award, Padma Shri, and many other awards for her contributions to the art of singing. After working in Bollywood for many years, Anuradha decided to leave the industry after the tragic demise of Gulshan Kumar. She later shifted her focus to devotional singing and has sung many well-known bhajans. Anuradha is also involved in social work and runs a foundation called Suryodaya Foundation.
