Ajmal Amir to star in Ram Gopal Varma’s film

Ajmal Amir will play the role of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Ram Gopal Varma’s film.

Actor Ajmal Amir is all set to play the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in Ram Gopal Varma’s film. The film is titled as Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu.

“It is a political thriller and features many relevant issues in the State. We started with the shoot a month ago. I have never met him, but I have been watching videos featuring him to get the mannerisms right. Thankfully, I have been getting very positive feedback regarding the look and characteristics, so far,” says Ajmal.

“Out of the people whom they shortlisted, I am told they felt I fit the part the best in terms of height and looks. I had played a CM in Rangam too. Kamma Rajyam focuses on Jagan’s journey, his rivals and more.”

The makers have given importance to his look in the film, as it is based on true, current events, and will have characters of Chandra Babu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan essayed by various actors.

Hyderabad and Vijayawada are the main locations of the film, which also has a layer of comedy to spice things up. Interestingly, the movie will not be featuring Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
