Radhika Madan, Akshay Kumar Start Shooting For Hindi Remake Of ‘Soorarai Pottru’

Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan kickstart the shoot of their upcoming film, a Hindi remake Of ‘Soorarai Pottru'.

Bollywood actress Radhika Madan will soon be featured in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ along with Akshay Kumar. Taking to their Instagram handle, the actors recently announced that they have begun shooting for their untitled film.

After the release of Bachchhan Paandey earlier this month, superstar Akshay Kumar has already moved on to his project. On Monday, the actor announced that he has started filming for his next movie, a Hindi remake of the Tamil film “Soorarai Pottru”. The remake will be directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the Suriya-starrer original, which premiered on Prime Video in November 2020. The film will feature Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan in the lead.

In the video, Radhika was dressed in her character look, wearing a red saree and sporting braided hair, while Akshay was spotted holding the clapboard and wearing a grey t-shirt and a pair of pants. Radhika cracked the coconut in a perfect half, and received a pat on the back from Akshay, while filmmaker Sudha clapped. Sharing the video on Instagram, Akshay added to the caption, “With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it. In case you’ll have any title suggestions, do share and of course your best wishes.”

“Soorarai Pottru” revolved around Nedumaaran Rajangam or “Maara”, who sets out to make the common man fly and in the process takes on the world’s most capital-intensive industry with the help of his family, friends, and sheer willpower. It was partly inspired by events from the life of Air Deccan founder Captain G R Gopinath.

The Hindi version of the film is directed by Sudha Kongara. And will be produced by Suriya’s production house, 2D Entertainment, along with Abudantia Entertainment and Cape Good Films on a lavish scale. Sudha Kongara-directed film. For the unversed, the Tamil version of the film was among the ten Indian films to be screened in the Best Foreign Film category at the 78th Golden Globe Awards and was also sent for the 93rd Academy Awards.

On the work front, the actor has multiple films in the pipeline including ‘Prithiviraj’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Mission Cinderella’, and ‘OMG 2’. While Radhika will be seen along with Arjun Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma in the film ‘Kuttey’.
