Plasma Therapy Is Showing Encouraging Results On Covid-19 Patients, Says Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal has said that Plasma Therapy is showing encouraging results on COVID-19 patients in Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister Of Delhi has said that Plasma Therapy is showing encouraging results on COVID-19 patients in Delhi. He told that four COVID-19 patients had Plasma Therapy treatment in Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in the last few weeks and the results are positive and encouraging.

Dr SK Sarin, Director, Institute of Liver & Biliary Science said in press briefing, “We are happy with the positive results in the four patients.”

He further said, “At this time, we need those people who have recovered from COVID19 and are at their homes. We need them to show their patriotism and donate blood plasma.”

Convalescent Plasma Therapy is an experimental procedure for COVID-19 patients in which plasma from a COVID-19 patient who has recovered from the disease, is transfused into a coronavirus patient who is in critical condition. The idea behind this therapy is that immunity can be transferred from a healthy person to a sick patient using convalescent plasma.

Arvind Kejriwal has urged those who have recovered from the disease, to donate blood for plasma therapy. He said the state government will also arrange transport for them to come to the hospital to donate plasma. “I request whoever has recovered to help those who are suffering and help them recover. If the plasma works, you can help save a person’s life,” he added.

Kejriwal further said, “In the next 2-3 days, we will conduct more trials and then we will seek permission next week, for all the serious patients.”

The number of positive cases of Coronavirus has crosses 23,000 in India.
