Queen of melody Lata Mangeshkar was honoured with Bharat Ratna in the year 2001 for her contribution to the Indian music industry. During the felicitation ceremony, the legendary singer made an emotional speech as she recalled her tough childhood after her father’s death when she was 13.
She revealed that she had to take up a career in the Bollywood industry in order to put bread on the table. Her speech will make you teary-eyed as well!
Lata Mangeshkar passed away due to a multi-organ failure on 6 Feb 2022 at the age of 92.
