Vijay Sethupathi To Play Antagonist In Shah Rukh’s ‘Jawan’ & Allu Arjun’s Pushpa

After a mind-boggling job of playing the villainous drug lord, in the film Vikram, Vijay Sethupathi is ready to play the antagonist again in Atlee’s directorial ‘Jawan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa’ sequel. Earlier Rana Dagubatti was selected for playing the antagonist meanwhile now the reports have confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the villain in the film ‘Jawan’.

Vijay Sethupathi Replaces Rana Daggubati In Jawan

Jawan director Atlee earlier decided to rope in Baahubali actor Rana Dagubatti to play the antagonist in the film, but due to the busy shooting schedule, the actor turned down the proposal to be a part of the film. Meanwhile, as per the reports, it is said that the makers then approached Vijay Sethupathi to play the villain who has agreed to play the role of villain in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan. The actor will soon join the sets of the film in Mumbai. The makers are yet to announce an official confirmation about Vijay being part of the cast.

Meanwhile, apart from Vijay South actress Nayanthara will also be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the film. Nayanthara has joined the set of Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ in Mumbai and the team reportedly gave a warm welcome to the actress. Nayanthara plays an important role in the actioner. The Lady Superstar was earlier spotted in Mumbai arriving for the ‘Jawan’ shoot.

Vijay Sethupathi Roped In For Pushpa Sequel

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi who has been praised for his performance in Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Vikram’ is now rumored to have been taken in for Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ sequel. The actor will reportedly play a key role in ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. The sequel is expected to get bigger and better. According to the latest reports, Septhupathi has been roped in by the makers to play the antagonist opposite Allu Arjun-starrer in which Fahadh Faasil was also seen playing the antagonist and now again will be reprising the role of SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. This will also mark the collaboration of the actors after ‘Vikram’.

The actor was earlier approached to play the forest officer in the first part but due to some reasons, the actor turned down the offer. However, the fans will now get the opportunity to see the actor in the much-loved prequel of Allu Arjun starrer film ‘Pushpa’.

Jawan is slated to release on 2nd June 2023 in multiple languages. This marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first Pan-India film. The movie is produced by Gauri Khan and presented by the actor’s home company Red Chillies Entertainment.
