Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya have announced their separation on social media. The megastars had got married in 2017 after dating each other for about a decade. They gave a joint statement about their separation. It reads, “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”
“We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during the difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support,” it further reads.
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya worked together in films like Manam, Ye Maaya Chesave and Autonagar Surya. After dating for a long time, they had two weddings in 2017 one in accordance with South Indian rituals preceded by a Christian wedding.
Rumours of problems in their marriage began when Samantha Prabhu Ruth dropped her surname Akkineni on social media.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu made her big digital debut this year with Amazon Prime’s ‘The Family Man 2’.
