RRR Bags Critics Choice Awards For Best Foreign Language Film & Best Song

This is Rajamouli's historical epic's second big win this year after RRR won the Best Song Award at 80th Golden Globes Award

RRR Bags Critics Choice Awards: It seems SS Rajamouli’s RRR’s winning spree is not going to end anytime soon. The historical action epic bagged two awards at the recently concluded 28th Critics Choice Awards – ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ and ‘Best Song’ for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Announcing the news, the twitter handle of Critics Choice Awards shared a post “Congratulations to the cast and crew of @RRRMovie- winners of the #criticschoice Award for Best Foreign Language Film. #CriticsChoiceAwards”.

RRR was also nominated for Best Director, Best Picture and Best Visual Effects.

Ram Charan and Jr. NTR starrer was competing against All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina 1985, Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, Close, and Decision to Leave, but ultimately RRR took home the award for ‘Best Foreign Language Film’.

The film also picked up the Best Song award for it’s track ‘Naatu Naatu’. Announcing the news, RRR’s Twitter handle shared music composer M.M. Keeravaani’s acceptance speech. “Naatu Naatu Again!! Extremely delighted to share that we won the #CriticsChoiceAwards for the BEST SONG.. #RRRMovie. Here’s@mmkeeravaani’s acceptance speech!!

In his acceptance speech, Keeravaani says, “Thank you so much. I am overwhelmed with this award. I am here to receive this wonderful award from the critics. Thank you all the critics, on behalf of my chorographer, lyrics writer, singers, programmers, and of course my director (sic),” Keeravaani is heard saying in the video.

This is RRR’s second big win this year. Just last week, the film had won the award for Best Original Song’ at 80th Golden Globes Awards.

This historical epic is a fictional tale of two real life revolutionaries- Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film, which has grossed over Rs.1200 crores also featured Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris and Alison Doody.
