Nandanamuri Balakrishna popularly hailed as the ‘God of Masses’ has always held a special place in the hearts of his fans. His latest action-adventure movie Daaku Maharaaj hit the theaters on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. The film opened to a strong box office collection and the team recently celebrated a success bash for the song ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ which crossed 20 million views on YouTube. But what not went well with audience after watching the 64-year-old veteran star dancing with 30-year-old Urvashi Rautela, due to which now Nandanamuri Balakrishna gets brutally trolled.
At the event, Balakrishna was seen dancing with the film’s lead actress Urvashi Rautela on the same hit song Dabidi Dibidi. While the moment was meant to be celebratory, it led to Nandanamuri Balakrishna brutally trolled online, as many netizens felt he made the actress uncomfortable during the dance.

Urvashi Rautela shared the video on Instagram captioning it, “OUR FILM #DAAKUMAHARAAJ & #DABIDIDIBIDI SUPER SUCCESS BASH ♥️🌹⚡️🌟 Grateful to all you guys 🙏🏻 #DabidiDibidi 20 MILLION VIEWS LOVE ♥️💙 BTS Electrifying DabidiDibidi full song from our Mega Period Drama film DaakuMaharaaj releases 12 JAN 2025🔥🔥.” However, when the clip made its way to Reddit netizens were quick to express their disapproval.
One user commented, “For someone who is so delusional, even she is so visibly uncomfortable courtesy of this creep.” Another wrote, “She is barely tolerating the oaf.” A more critical user added, “Why this Balayya never faces consequences for being a molester… no one has the guts to confront him?” Some also pointed out specific moments from the dance. “What even was that dance step in the end??” one user questioned while another sarcastically replied, “Glad you haven’t seen the actual dance step from the movie; there’s a GIF trending of it.”
Meanwhile, this incident reminded some people of a previous on-stage moment involving Balakrishna and actress Anjali, where he was seen pushing her off stage. One Redditor recalled, “Is this the same guy who shoved an actress off the stage?” The conversation around Balakrishna’s behaviour has reignited debates about accountability and respect in the film industry.
While some fans defended it as a celebratory gesture that may have been misinterpreted, others criticized the actor for allegedly failing to respect personal boundaries. Amid the backlash, neither Urvashi nor Balakrishna has spoken publicly about the viral clip yet.
Despite the criticism, Daaku Maharaaj has been a box office hit grossing over ₹56 crore worldwide on its opening day. Directed by Bobby Kolli and made on a massive ₹100 crore budget, the film stars Urvashi Rautela, Pragya Jaiswal and Shraddha Srinath in key roles.
While the movie’s success is undeniable, the trolling of Balakrishna highlights the importance of respectful interactions. Whether the backlash impacts his public image remains to be seen but Nandanamuri Balakrishna brutally trolled is a phrase that has caught widespread attention.
