Nagarjuna To Take Sabbatical Post The Ghost Release?

Nagarjuna plans to go on a sabbatical to understand the Covid-19 pandemic impact on audience preference in films

South superstar Nagarjuna is busy promoting his upcoming film The Ghost which is set to hit big screens on 5th October. With the movie releasing next week the Telugu actor already has his future plans sorted. In a new interview, the 63 years old actor opened up about his future plans. After the wrapping up of The Ghost promotions Nagarjuna will go on a sabbatical.

Mr. Akkineni plans to take a break from work after his forthcoming action thriller The Ghost. He wants to understand the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the audience’s choices. His purpose of sabbatical is to learn trends that have emerged during the Covid-19 lockdown. He also made it known that he is open to do OTT films too.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Nagarjuna says, “After Covid, I have realised that there is a lot of change in people’s taste. So I would really want to kind of take it easy this year, and don’t want any more releases in 2022. I think we need another six months more time to understand what people are coming to theatres for, and what they are going for OTT. So when the scripts are coming, I have to decide – ‘Okay, this we should keep for OTT, because I am open to doing OTT films too, and this we should do a theatrical release’. I am trying to figure it out.”

Ever since The Ghost was announced the film has created a lot of buzz. The film stars Nagarjuna and Sonal Chauhan in the lead roles marking their first collaboration. Helmed by Parveen Sattaru the action thriller is scheduled to release in theaters on 5th October. Nagarjuna’s The Ghost will clash with Chiranjeevi’s GodFather at the box office on October 5.
