Directed by Harish Shankar, the Telugu action film, “Mr. Bachchan” was released in the theatres on 15 August, Independence Day alongside other regional films like “Double iSmart” and “Thangalaan”. Upon its release, the Telugu film received “poor” reactions and reviews from moviegoers and critics. Subsequently, the Telugu film has now registered an “underwhelming” box office opening, failing to surpass its competition, “Double iSmart” and “Thangalaan”.

As per Sacnilk, Ravi Teja’s film, “Mr. Bachchan” earned Rs. 3.50 crores on its opening day (first day). The box office opening of the film is significantly low considering its release on Independence Day. Furthermore, the competing films, “Double iSmart” and “Thangalaan” registered a much higher opening than Ravi Teja’s film.

Despite the low opening, it is expected that the Telugu film might see some growth in the upcoming weekend, (Saturday-Sunday). If all goes well, then the Telugu film, “Mr. Bachchan” can hopefully cross the 5-8Cr mark by the end of the weekend.
