In the recent interview, the 'Laila Majnu' actor Avinash Tiwary explained the need to appreciate the contributions of cinematographers, editors, sound designers, musicians and more!

Actor Avinash Tiwary highly known for his heart-touching performance in the 2018 film Laila Majnu and in the shows such as Bambai Meri Jaan and Kaala, recently shared an honest take on how actors get maximum credit in the film industry. In an exclusive conversation with Sucharita Tyagi, he reflected on the filmmaking process and why the contributions of crew members deserves more recognition.

Discussing one of the most memorable scenes from Laila Majnu, where his character faints after seeing Laila (played by Triptii Dimri), Tiwary appreciated the collective effort behind creating such impactful scene and the movie. He credited the scene’s emotional depth to Imtiaz Ali’s writing, Sajid Ali’s direction and the music and background score by Hitesh Sonik, Niladri Kumar, Joi Barua and Alif.

“It’s not about one person, yaar,” he said. “We give too much value to actors. Hamare filmon mein filmy conversations hi start hoti hai actors se (In our films, conversations always begin with actors).” Further giving example of animated films, Avinash added that great performances in animated films show how much effort happens behind the scenes. “Cartoon characters, animation also happens. You see great performances in animation films. Why? Because there’s someone who can make that happen.”
