South industry superstar Mahesh Babu also known as the Prince of Tollywood, is the son of the popular actor, filmmaker, and producer Siva Rama Krishna Murthy. Mahesh Babu made his debut in the industry in 1999 as a lead actor in the film, Raja Kumarudu co-starring Priety Zinta. The film was commercially successful, and people began referring to him with the title Prince. He’s also one of the most attractive actors working in Indian cinema right now.

While recently during the promotions of his film, Major the actor was seen opening up on being a part of Bollywood, he said, that Bollywood can’t afford him but pan masala can. Mahesh Babu is one of the biggest names in the South industry, however despite being the superstar of one giant industry the actor has given a few flop movies with his long list of hits.   1. Spyder

Directed by A. R. Murugadoss, the film Spyder featured Mahesh Babu along with the Runway 34 actress Rakul Preet Singh and S. J. Suryah. The film was released in 2017 and opened up to mixed reviews by the audience. However, the performances of Mahesh Babu and Surya in the film were hailed by their fans, the movie bombed at the box office due to the high production costs as the budget of the film itself was 120crores.

2. Bobby

Another film on the list is Bobby, the film is a 2002 Indian Telugu-language romance film written and directed by Sobhan and produced by K. Krishna Mohan Rao. The movie stars Mahesh Babu, with the South diva Aarthi Agarwal. The film was created on a budget of 9.5 crores.

3. Brahmotsavam

Next on the list is Srikanth Addala’s directorial, Brahmotsavam. The film starred Mahesh babu with the two leading ladies of the South industry, Kajal Aggarwal, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film was the most awaited film of 2016, however, it failed to exceed the expectations of the audience turning out to be a huge flop.

4. Aagadu

The 2014 released film Aagadu is a Srinu Vaitla directorial film that starred Mahesh Babu, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Sonu Sood as the leads. However, due to its similarities with Dookudu and other successful Telugu films and because of the competition from new releases, Aagadu was declared a flop.

5. Naani

Last but surely not least is 2004 released S.J. Surya’s film Naani which featured Mahesh Babu with the Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel. The film turned out to become a massive flop in Mahesh Babu’s career, the film earned a total of 4cr only.

While the latest film to join the queue is the 2022 released film Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which featured Mahesh with actress Keerthy Suresh. The film was directed by Parasuram, however, it fell flat at the box office, breaching a total of Rs 180 Cr worldwide. Mahesh Babu is currently gearing up for Trivikram Srinivas’ directorial film SSMB 28 which also features Pooja Hegde in the lead.
