“Celebs Should Control Fans”: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Addresses Tollywood Stars Amid Allu Arjun Stampede Issue

The recent stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule has caused quite a stir, especially after a tragic death of a woman and the injuries to her son. The incident occurred on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre when a massive crowd gathered to see actor Allu Arjun. This led to chaos when he waved to the crowd from his car’s sunroof, resulting in the stampede. Following this, Allu Arjun was arrested sparking debates across the entertainment industry. Amid this backdrop, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy held a crucial meeting with Tollywood stars, filmmakers, producers and other industry professionals to address regarding the growth of the industry.

In the meeting, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy mainly noted that the government would not compromise on law and order. He made it clear that celebrities need to ensure their fans act responsibly and maintain discipline. The meeting was held at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills, with Tollywood figures like producer Dil Raju who is also the Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC), actors Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Suresh Daggubati, K Vijayendra Prasad, K Raghavendra Rao, and directors like Koratala Siva and Anil Ravipudi in attendance.

The Chief Minister’s message was straightforward – the government stands by the Telugu film industry but law and order must come first. He specifically mentioned that the government would not allow benefit shows or special screenings for now and warned against relying on private security during events. The incident at Sandhya Theatre led to the government announcing a ban on special screenings, and the Hyderabad police even issued a criminal case against Allu Arjun and the film’s production company, Mythri Movie Makers.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of the film industry taking on social responsibility. He also suggested that celebrities must control their fans to avoid such incidents in the future.
