The entertainment world was left shocked by the news that choreographer Jani Master admitted to grave offences like rape, harassment and intimidation against a young colleague. This case of sexual assault has captured widespread attention.
Choreographer Jani Master was accused of sexually assaulting his colleague during outdoor shoots over several years. He faced charges under IPC sections 376, 506 and 323, along with the POCSO Act. His confession led to a 14-day remand in judicial custody, underlining the seriousness of the allegations.
The victim said to be a minor during the 2020 incident, revealed the distressing harassment she endured. Despite financial challenges, she sought work through Jani Master, only to face more abuse. His use of threats and coercion, including forcing her to convert to Islam, painted a troubling picture of her suffering.
As Great Andhra reported, the officials said, “The case is solid, and the chances of bail are minimal. We are currently discussing the application for his custody to facilitate further questioning regarding the allegations made against him.”
Following his arrest in Goa, Jani Master’s wife defended him, alleging a planned attack on his reputation. Nevertheless, the legal process continued, including POCSO Act sections. She said, “The allegation that the woman was harassed when she was 16 is disgusting. There is no truth in it. If the girl can show evidence, I will leave Master.” Industry response included suspending him from roles pending inquiry completion.
As the case develops, this incident sheds light on industry practices and the importance of swift action in similar situations, showing the significance of standing against wrongdoing.
