Adivi Sesh Learned This Lesson After Doing Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s Biopic

Actor Adivi Sesh reveals the biggest lesson he has learned after playing Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan on-screen in his biopic titled 'Major'.

Actor and director Adivi Sesh is all set to play real-life hero, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, in a biographical action film. The trailer of the much-awaited film titled ‘Major’ was released a few days ago.

During a recent press conference, actor Adivi Sesh was asked to share a lesson he learned after doing Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s biopic. He said, “The selfishness in me has decreased. At the beginning of our teaser campaign last year, we had a question in the teaser, ‘What does it mean to be a soldier?’ It was Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s dad who said to me, ‘Every citizen speaks about how one should fight on the border, how Sachin Tendulkar should bat and India should win cricket matches. Everyone is patriotic. It is every citizen’s duty to be patriotic, but it is a soldier’s duty to protect those patriots.”

During the same press meet, Sashi Kiran Tikka, the director of ‘Major’ revealed how he researched for the film. He said, “Our prime source of research is from Uncle and aunty (Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s parents). We have spent extensive hours knowing about Major. We also went to his school, met his friends, teachers and his colleagues in 7 Bihar. We went to the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune. We also visited the Manesar NSG base. So, we have spent extensive time researching about him and the incidents.”

‘Major’ is a biographical action film based on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s life and valour displayed during the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The film features Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Mahesh Babu and will hit the theatres on June 3 in Hindi and Telugu languages.
