Telugu Industry Producers To Halt Shoots From Aug 1, Here’s Why

The members of ATFPG on Monday announced that due to increasing costs the members will withhold shootings of Telugu films from August 1st.

On Tuesday, members of the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) announced that due to the changing revenue situations and increasing costs the members will withhold shootings from August 1st, 2022, and will sit in discussions until they find workable resolutions. Read to know more.

Telugu Film Producers To Stop Shoot From August 1, 2022

In a recent statement released by the members of the guild on Tuesday have announced that the Telugu film producers will halt the shoots from August 1 due to increasing costs. The statement read, “Post-Pandemic with the changing revenue situations and increasing costs, it is becoming important for producers to discuss all the issues we are facing as a community of filmmakers,”.

It further read, “It is our responsibility to better our ecosystem and ensure that we are releasing our films in a healthy environment. In this regard, all producer members of the Guild have voluntarily decided to withhold shootings from August 1st 2022 to sit in discussions until we find workable resolutions,”.

These Films Likely To Get Effected

With multiple films in the queue, it is still not known which films will be following the decision by the guild members. For the uninitiated, many Telugu actors have been awaiting the shoot of their films like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR will might have to see a delay in their films for the time.

However, this is not the first time that the issue has been raised, earlier a film producer discussed the revenue issue and told PTI,  “Theatrical revenues, except for blockbuster movies like RRR, KGF-2, and one or two others, have fallen to an abysmal low of 20%. This has hit the industry hard, which was already reeling under the Covid impact. Everyone is now worried about the sustainability of the industry in such a scenario.”
