‘Unexpected Reunion’ Kamal Haasan And Mani Ratnam to Collaborate After 35 Years

Kamal Haasan is a pan-Indian star way long before the term even came into existence. The latest reports around the superstar create a buzz that he is collaborating with Mani Ratnam. Yes, you got that right Kamal Haasan and ace director Mani Ratnam are reuniting after 35 years. 

On Sunday, the actor and filmmaker surprised their fans and film fraternity by announcing their comeback. The duo is set to collaborate for a Tamil untitled film after 35 years. The great announcement was made on the 68th birthday of Haasan. Their last project together was the 1987 film Naayakan.

Kamal Haasan took to his Twitter handle to make the big announcement that made fans excited. He shared a video with the caption, “Here we go again! #KH234”. The untitled project is tentatively named KH234, this hints at the 234th film of Kamal Haasan.

Reacting to the post most fans called it an ‘unexpected announcement’. A user wrote: “Unexpected. Two legends are back together after 35 years.” Another comment read: “Oh my. My head is spinning. Can’t believe this.” Another user wrote: “The goats coming together.” 

The reunion of two legends set the internet on fire. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s last film was the critically-acclaimed Nayakan, which was released in 1987. Nayakan was one of the greatest Indian films ever made at that time. Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam were supposed to work on the latest released magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan – I but that didn’t work out. 

However, the two legends are collaborating now and fans are going crazy over it. On the work front, Ratnam is basking praises in the glory of PS 1 success. Haasan is shooting for Shankar’s Indian 2.
