Sanjay Dutt To Make His Tamil Debut With ‘Thalapathy 67’

The shooting of 'Thalapathy 67' started on January 2 and is progressing at a brisk pace.

There had been speculations and rumors about Sanjay Dutt making his debut in Tamil cinema with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming action thriller. Finally 7 Star Studios that is producing the film, has officially confirmed the news. Makers confirmed his participation in the film by sharing red theme poster with Dutt’s fiery look on their social media handle.

The poster also has a quote from the actor which reads, “When I heard the one line of ‘Thalapathy 67’ I knew in that exact moment I had to be part of the film and I’m thrilled to start this journey”.

Dutt has been working in the Hindi film industry over 42 years and ‘Thalapathy 67’ will mark his debut in Tamil cinema. The actor made his debut in Kannada cinema last year with KGF: Chapter 2, where he played the lead antagonist ‘Adheera’

Thalapathy 67 marks the reunion of Thalapathy Vijay and Kanagaraj, after their previous superhit Master (2021). The shooting of ‘Thalapathy 67’ started on January 2 and is progressing at a brisk pace. The film also stars Trisha Krishnan, Priya Anand, Gautam Menon, Mansur Ali Khan and Arjun.

‘Thalapathy 67’ will be produced by SS Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studio and co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy. Other technicians on board include DOP Manoj Paramahamsa, editor Philomin Raj and choreographer Dinesh.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt’s last big screen appearance was in Shamshera (2022), where he played the lead antagonist opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
