Superstar Rajinikanth is set to collaborate with Jai Bhim (2021) fame filmmaker T. J. Gnanavel for his 170th Film. The film will be produced by Lyca Productions who had previously produced films such as Darbar and Kaala.
Lyca tweeted out the news about the film’s announcement on their social media handles on the day of their Chairman Subaskaran’s birthday.
A part of the announcement read, “Lyca Productions is feeling acclaimed & honoured in announcing “Superstar” Rajinikanth’s “#Thalaivar 170” film under our banner. This film will be directed by TJ Gnanavel, will have music by “Rockstar” Anirudh and produced by Subaskaran. We are further happy to inform that the shoot of the film will commence soon under the leadership of GKM Tamil Kumaran and will be ready for release in 2024.”
In addition, popular music composer Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for this highly anticipated project. The film is expected to release in 2024.
According to reports, Thalaivar 170 is based on a true incident and Rajinikanth is said to be playing a cop. The rest of the details about the film’s pot and other cast members is kept under wraps.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently busy with the shooting of Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, whose shooting has been progressing at a swift pace. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film boasts an ensemble star cast including Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, who is playing the lead antagonist in the movie, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu and Malayalam actor Vinayakan. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will be also seen making a special cameo in the film.
