The much-awaited teaser of Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 was unveiled on Friday. The first teaser of the film promises a much-entertaining piece for the viewers offering high-standard visuals giving a strong competition to SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film ‘Baahubali’ which also stirred buzz among its fans for its highly-enthralling visuals and sets.
The short teaser also featured a glimpse of the two leading ladies of the film including Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and South industry actress Trisha Krishnan, showcasing their highly enchanting looks, reacting to which fans also took their reactions over social media and shared the much-awaited looks of the actresses. Sharing their reactions a Twitter user wrote, “Crying, weeping, sobbing, smiling wide, throwing up… the look they gave each other!!! My ladies Nandini and Kundavai are coming to end every damn one”. However, the teaser got leaked just a few moments before its release on YouTube. The high-octane film features a much-intriguing ensemble cast including Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sarath Kumar. Meanwhile, Chiyaan Vikram who essays the role of Aditya Karikalan in the film was recently taken to Kauvery hospital in Chennai soon after he complained of having discomfort due to a high fever, meanwhile, his publicist has denied all the rumors about him having a heart attack and said that he’s alright and will soon get back to work.
On the other hand, the teaser launch of the historical- drama, was launched at a grand event in Chennai on Friday along with the star cast and the team. The teaser was unveiled digitally by legendary actors superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Mahesh Babu, Suriya, Mohanlal, and Rakshit Shetty.
Based on a novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, the film revolves around the power struggle of the Chola empire during the 10th century and will hit the screens in two installments. Jointly Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, directed by Mani Ratnam, the music of Ponniyin Selvan is composed by AR Rahman. PS-1 is slated for a worldwide release on September 30, 2022, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
