Ponniyin Selvan 1 Collection Day 2: A blockbuster is loading this weekend. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 1 has been well received by the audience worldwide and is raking splendid numbers at the box office. According to the trade experts, PS 1 has already crossed Rs 150 crore at the box office worldwide. But there’s more! The film isn’t only raking high numbers in India, but has taken over the US box office.
Ponniyin Selvan 1 Box Office Collection Day 2:
On its opening day, PS 1 earned Rs 78 crore gross worldwide. According to trade expert Ramesh Bala, PS 1 box office collection is Rs 150 crore gross worldwide. He informed in a tweet, “In 2 days, #PS1 has grossed more than ₹ 150 Crs at the WW Box office..”
He then also told that the film has been recording the earning of a minimum of $1 Million per day. His tweet reads, “PS1 has hit a hat-trick of $1 Million gross per day for 3 days in USA. First Tamil movie to do so..”
He mentioned in another tweet, “PS1 Craze in USA. Even grand parents who have gone from TN to USA to take care of their new born grand children are taking turns in Baby sitting among family members and watching in theatres.. Tamil Industry Hit and first $6 Million Tamil movie in USA loading..”
Ponniyin Selvan 1 has earned over $3.25 million so far, while the Hindi film Vikram Vedha, which was released on the same day as PS 1 has raked only $700k in US.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 is a period action film directed by Mani Ratnam and features Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Shobhita Dhulipala amongst others. The film is set in the 10th century and is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel Ponniyin Selvan. AR Rahman has given the music for this magnum opus.
