Chiyaan Vikram’s film Cobra finally hit the theatres on 31 August. Fans were waiting for this action-thriller film for quite some time. As the film was released in theatres yesterday, it garnered mixed reviews and collected a decent amount at the box office. Cobra is a Tamil film written and directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. It features Chiyaan Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also makes his acting debut with this film. Cobra had a flying start at the box office. The film is said to be made with a budget of Rs 100 crore. According to the trade reports, the film is said to have earned Rs 11.7 crore at the box office. While the film has been well-received in Tamil Nadu, Kerala recorded Rs 1.25 crore earning on Day 1. The film is also doing well overseas as it debuted at the number 2 position in Malaysia.
As the film is being loved by the audience, it is expected to perform well over the weekend. Twitter users are appreciating the film.
This film also marks the Tamil debut of KGF actress Srinidhi Shetty. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman.
