MAA President Vishnu Manchu Warns Creators, Issues Legal Action On Derogatory and Harassing Videos

Vishnu Manchu strictly demands removal of offensive content within 48 hours, otherwise legal actions will be taken for creators who ignore the warning.

A massive outrage erupted when Telugu creator Praneeth Hanumantu’s video went viral, featuring awful comments on the pure relationship between father and daughter, offending netizens across Telugu regions. The video was initially noticed by actor Sai Dharam Tej, who appealed to the state’s Chief Ministers to take quick legal action. Followed by several Tollywood celebrities raising the issue, the YouTube creator was taken into police custody.

Now, Movie Artists Association (MAA) president and actor Vishnu Manchu has responded, releasing a video pledging to take action against such disgraceful digital content creators who demean and make fun of various subjects on social media.

The ‘Mosagallu’ actor began by highlighting how the world views Telugu people as well-behaved and deeply rooted in their culture and traditions. Now the question rises, “Why are Telugu people behaving like this?” in light of creators passing degrading comments. Addressing Praneeth Hanumantu’s behavior, Vishnu mentioned that numerous actors and actresses had written to MAA demanding legal action because there are many other creators who engage in similar acts online.

The matter is not just about the video of sexual comments made on the father-daughter relationship. Calling ‘dark humor’ or ‘trolling videos’, digital creators often mock videos and photos of various actors and actresses. Vishnu further said legendary actor Brahmanandam has expressed his frustration over a call, his images being used on meme pages and in videos. While, Brahmanandam do enjoy them but watching same additions in demeaning videos, hurts his feelings and saying, this should be stopped.

Brahmanandam told Vishnu, “We are Telugu people; we are not like this. You, Vishnu Manchu, being part of this generation, need to bring about change and prevent this kind of outburst.”

In conclusion, Vishnu issued a strict warning to digital content creators to “DELETE ALL DEROGATORY AND HARASSING VIDEOS WITHIN 48 HOURS”, or else they have to face severe action from the Movie Artists Association. He added that MAA would sit down with YouTube to review social media content after the 48-hour period. Vishnu Manchu ended his statement by seeking support from Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

On the work front, Vishnu Manchu is gearing up for his upcoming next ‘Kanappa’, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by his father and veteran superstar, Mohan Babu.
