‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’: Documentary Announced on the Visionary Filmmaker!

Netflix's upcoming documentary "Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli" will delve into the life and work of the iconic director.

Rising from Tollywood to global recognition, SS Rajamouli’s contribution to Indian cinema is remarkable, having significantly grown with one fantabulous film after another. From powerful actioners like Student No. 1 (2001), Simhadri (2003), Sye (2004), Chatrapathi (2005), and more, to changing the direction of cinema with out-of-the-world narratives in films like Magadheera (2009) and Eega (2012). He took Indian cinema to the global stage with incredible blockbusters Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). His contribution is clearly visible and widely known at a global level.

Taking all this into account, Netflix has announced a documentary on none other than SS Rajamouli titled ‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’, leaving fans excited and eager for its release. It would not be unfair to call him the Master of Vision! Announced on social media, the poster features the filmmaker’s delighted facial expression, eyes filled with pride and honor. It is further merged with a phenomenal war scene from the movie Baahubali.

Netflix is presenting ‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’ in partnership with Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios. According to Deadline, Anupama Chopra is presenting this documentary on the life of this extraordinary man, set to stream on the OTT platform from August 2, 2024.

Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli will dive into insights from ace filmmakers like Joe Russo and James Cameron, as well as another Indian director, Karan Johar. Additionally, the film will also feature Rajamouli’s close industry colleagues like Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan, who were superstar performers in some of his greatest films, the Baahubali franchise and RRR, respectively.

Recently, SS Rajamouli astounded everyone with his unexpected impressive cameo appearance in Nag Ashwin’s directorial film titled ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. On the work front, Rajamouli is leaving no stone unturned with his focus on his next film featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu, rumored to be based on a forest adventure packed with action and fan’s anticipation for this flick is at peak.
