Director Nagraj Manjule rose to fame because of the success of his two cult-classic Marathi movies- Fandry and Sairat. The director was lauded by everyone for his vision of portraying the rural areas and taboo topics prevailing in Maharashtra with a fresh perspective.
Meanwhile, the news is out that Nagraj Manjule has joined hands with Bollywood star Riteish Deshmukh for his upcoming project. The project will be based on the life of the great Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. According to the announcement done on Twitter, the film seems to be a trilogy on Shivaji’s life. The film might take the audience to a ride of Shivaji Maharaj’s life from being a boy to becoming the greatest King.
Taran Adarsh took on his official Twitter handle to announce this news. He wrote, “BIGGG NEWS… #RiteishDeshmukh, #Sairaat director Nagraj Manjule and music composers Ajay-Atul… Will make a *trilogy* on #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj… Will release PAN India in 2021.”
It will be interesting to ace director Nagraj Manjule’s take on Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Riteish Deshmukh’s role will also be something to look forward to. The movie will be melodies owing to the fact that Ajay-Atul will compose the music of it.
On the work front, Nagraj Manjule is also working with Amitabh Bachchan on his Bollywood directorial debut film Jhund. The movie will release on 8th May 2020.
