Alka Kubal takes to her social media handle to pay tribute to late veteran actress Ashalata Wabgaonkar. Last week, Ashalata Wabgaonkar passed away after being diagnosed with COVID-19. The 79-year old actress’s health started deteriorating after being tested positive for novel coronavirus.
Ashalata Wabgaonkar was shooting for Marathi TV show Aai Majhi Kalubai in Satara when she got diagnosed with COVID-19. Apart from her, 20 other members on the sets of the show also tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection.
In the video, Alka Kubal pays tribute to Ashalata Wabgaonkar. She prays for her soul to rest in peace. For the unknown, Alka Kubal also performed the last rites of Ashalata, as her family couldn’t arrive in time from Mumbai.
Alka Kubal is clearly emotional in the video, and says that coronavirus took away a precious soul. The actress says that the age factor plays a major role in the recovery of a coronavirus patient. As Ashalata was 79 years old her body wasn’t able to fight the disease.
The entertainment industry is deeply saddened by the passing way of Ashalata Wabgaonkar.
