The entire country was in a state of chaos after the Citizenship amendment bill was passed as the nation witnessed huge protests against the same and Malayalam actor Tini Tom came under fire after he shared a controversial image on his Facebook page. He was then accused by several people of triggering violence against the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi with his post. The image included a story of a Prime Minister from 1672 who was killed by an angry mob. And soon after the post sparked controversy, he deleted it and also explained that it wasn’t his intention to cause any trouble.

Tini Tom who now took down the post issues an apology, as he shared a video on Facebook and stated, “I never thought that the post would create such a huge controversy. I would like to apologize for my earlier post which was misunderstood by people using social media. I never had any intention to trigger any sort of violence. My intention was to question the unfortunate incidents happening across the country in the name of the Citizenship Amendment Act. I am not the kind of a person who encourages any kind of violence against the Prime Minister or any political organizations.”

It was just last week that the parliament cleared the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019 and it became an act after it received assent from President Ram Nath Kovind. Now students and opposition parties all over the country have been seen protesting after the bill was amended.  Even various videos and pictures of protest are seen making rounds on social media. It is also revealed that leaders from 13 opposition parties have met with the  President and further urged him to immediately withdraw the citizenship law.
