Kannada superstars Kiccha Sudeep and Upendra interacted with the media in Mumbai today as they talked about their upcoming film Kabzaa. It is an upcoming crime drama film scheduled to release on March 17. During the press conference, Kiccha said some kind words for Upendra, with whom he previously shared screen space in Mukunda Murari.
Kiccha said, “If at all, I became an actor, it is because of Mr. Upendra sir. I was one of those people who wanted to work as an assistant director to him. He knows that. And I was in his team. It was one of these days where he just looked at me. I don’t know what he had in mind. He just said, “Why don’t you become an actor? Why are you wasting your time here?” I was at that age when you think everyone is right except us. So, I took his words seriously. I did some photoshoots and came back. He was the first person with whom I showed my photoshoot.”
“I am not just standing here being a part of this film. I am standing with one of my heroes- Mr. Upendra Sir, who we all admire. Lot of us have learned a lot from him technically also. I have had these opportunities to see all his films in theatres. Then I got this wonderful opportunity to work with him in Mukunda Murari. So, this is my second film with him. In both films, I played a cameo. He is someone who we wanted to see giving the biggest hits in our state. Not always you want to be a part of the film because of the script. Sometimes, it’s for the people,” Kiccha Sudeep further added.
Kabzaa is directed by R Chandru and produced by Anand Pandit. Telugu actress Shriya Saran plays the female lead in the film.
