KGF 2 Actor Yash Reacts On Competition With RRR At Box Office

Ahead of the release of KGF 2, actor Yash opens up about competing with RRR at the box office.

SS Rajamouli’s period action film RRR has taken the box office by storm. The film has raked magical numbers worldwide and has broken several records. While the film is unstoppable, the audience is eying another mega release ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.

KGF: Chapter 1, released in 2018, was a massive commercial success. And since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the second part. Now, when the release is around the corner, it would be interesting to see the competition between RRR and KGF 2 at the box office.

During a recent press meet, KGF 2 actor Yash was asked if he feels any pressure about competing with RRR at the box office. He said, “I don’t see it as pressure. It is a pleasure to entertain people. And we concentrate on that. Of course, box office numbers matter. But what I believe is, once a movie is released, and if the audience likes it, they will promote the film more than me. So, it will depend on them. But of course, we are expecting a huge number. I never think that I have to break this or that record. I always think about the potential of the industry and the potential of what we have done. We are more interested in making records instead of breaking records. Everybody should do that.”

On being asked if he would work with a Bollywood filmmaker in near future, Yash replied, “Yes, why not! I always believe that a film is the director’s vision. As an actor, you are only as good as your movie, and as good as your director can imagine you. Today when you see me as Rocky in KGF, it is Prashanth’s vision. He loves his hero so much, so he presents him like that. So, if there is any director who can present me in the way the audience wants to see, then why not! I don’t differentiate between directors from Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu. It’s just that they have to make a film keeping everybody in mind. If they can do it, then why not!

KGF: Chapter 2 will hit the screens on April 14 in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
