Kantara Star Rishab Shetty Doesn’t Want To Do Bollywood Films

Rishab Shetty wishes not to do any Hindi films and to stay grounded in Kannada regional films

Rishab Shetty has amazed the nation with his latest movie titled Kantara. The Kannada film became a blockbuster in a short span of time. The actor who also directed the movie received much love and adulation for the movie. In a time when South actors and Bollywood actors and makers are collaborating Rishab Shetty wants to stick to his roots. He wishes not to do any Hindi films and to stay grounded in Kannada regional films

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rishab Shetty revealed that he can’t leave the Kannada film industry “I want to work in Kannada because I am here today due to the Kannada industry, Kannada fans and Kannada cinema. So, I can’t forget my roots and my home. If a film of mine has worked, that doesn’t change my family and friends. My core is still there. So, I can’t leave that and I wouldn’t.”

He further added, “I always believe that more regional is more universal. If people like my regional content, I present it here as well. But if I want to release it only in Kannada, I do that too. Kantara became a pan-Indian film on its own, we didn’t do that. We don’t know how it happened as it wasn’t our plan. It’s reach increased just because of the word-of -mouth. But now that this film became pan-India, it isn’t like I’ll do the same next time. I want to tell a story in Kannada next as that pushes me more.”

Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara is based on the Karnataka annual festivals, Bhoota Kola and Kambala. The film is based on folklore, a story of a conflict between humans and nature. The story revolves around “Bhoota” who trades forest land with King in exchange for happiness later King’s son grows up to become a greedy person and claims back the land. The action-adventure film stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore Kumar G, Achyuth Kumar, and Pramod Shetty in key roles.
