Third time is a charm. After a bitter battle with incumbent Donald Trump, Joe Biden is finally headed to the White House.
The 77 year old will be the oldest president to ever set foot in the white house. This is the third time that Biden fought the presidential election and the first one to win. The new president had run twice before, once in 1988 and the other in 2008
Before being the President elect, Biden served as the vice president to Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017
Mr Biden has said he is “honoured” America has “chosen me to lead our great country”, adding: “The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans – whether you voted for me or not.”
What exactly does Joe Biden’s Victory mean for America?
Joe Biden’s victory in very simple words means relief from Donald Trump. It is a well known fact that Trump while being incompetent and narcissistic was also sexist and homophobic. These are not the qualities one would wish in a leader. He was also against anything not white.
The Democratic win means the end of the fear regime and all the false promises that the Trump government made.
While it is yet to be seen as to how good a president will Biden be, one can safely assume that he has the experience and authority to get the job done. This is a man who has been wanting to be a president for more than 30 years. You can bet that he will do a good job at it.
Plus his uplifting rhetoric, inspiring back-story and Pennsylvanian roots proved he could win back the middle class voters who flocked to Mr Trump at the last election.
Trump’s rhetoric to ‘Make America Great Again’ would have only bought him one term. The United States are in no way greater than they were before. On the contrary it is in a far worse condition.
Trump’s handling of the corona virus leaves much to be desired.
Joe Biden here feels like a ray of hope for the liberals who were tired of the hate speeches and the discrimination that the Trump government brought.
