#ImWithFred becomes a massive trend on twitter in America as Fred Guttenberg, who lost his 14-year-old daughter in the tragic Parkland, Florida, school shooting, gets escorted out of the gallery during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday (Feb.04). House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited Guttenberg as her guest.
It all happened when Donald Trump mentioned that he would protect gun rights, which caused Guttenberg to yell from the speaker’s box as the Trump spoke.
Guttenberg was immediately escorted out of the audience by police officers who were dressed in plain clothes. Nancy Pelosi tore copy of Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech.
Earlier that day, Fred had tweeted, “Thank you @SpeakerPelosi for inviting me to be your guest tonight at the State Of The Union. I cannot thank you enough for your commitment to issues important to Americans and to the issue most important to me on dealing with gun violence.”
After the incident, Fred Guttenberg tweeted, “(1,2) Tonight was a rough night. I disrupted the State Of The Union and was detained because I let my emotions get the best of me. I simply want to be able to deal with the reality of gun violence and not have to listen to the lies about the 2A as happened tonight.”
Followed by, “(2,2) That said, I should not have yelled out. I am thankful for the overwhelming support that I am receiving. However, I do owe my family and friends an apology. I have tried to conduct myself with dignity throughout this process and I will do better as I pursue gun safety.”
