While the world is producing some weird stuff, here’s another weird man-made creation with a dash of spirituality to it. ‘Jesus Shoes’ are in the market as a Brooklyn-based creative label MSCHF launched their new sneakers.
The highlight point of the white Nike Air Max 97s shoe is that it was injected with holy water from the Jordan River, it also has the Bible verse Matthew 14:25 -- the passage describing Jesus walking on water -- at the side of the show along with a single blood drop to represent the blood of Christ.
Some other religious features include the frankincense-scented insoles, a crucifix threaded through the laces, and a red sole. The red shoes were traditionally worn by past Popes. Not only this, the shoe box an angel and a seal resembling the official papal seal.
The limited-edition holy-water filled sneakers were out of stock within a few minutes. They were sold for a humongous amount of $3000.
"We thought of that Arizona Iced Tea and Adidas collab, where they were selling shoes that [advertised] a beverage company that sells iced tea at bodegas," Fox News quoted the head of commerce Daniel Greenberg as telling the New York Post.
