As we approach the launch of Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S20, there’s expected to be multiple rounds of leaks that claim to reveal it all about the upcoming device. And the latest in this has already arrived, revealing interesting details about the camera and display of the Galaxy S20 and S20+.
The latest information of the device comes courtesy of XDADevelopers, which has gotten hold of the Galaxy S20+ Geekbench listing that confirms key specs and features. The publication claims to have leaked details of the S20+ variant’s camera app, and its hardware, along with a picture showing a toggle for its 120Hz display.
The report states that the phone is going to be in line with previous rumours, and will support 8K video recording — at 30 frames per second (no 24FPS or 60FPS options here). This would be done through the primary camera on the S20+ that would be a 12-megapixel Sony-made sensor.
The listing shows the Galaxy S20+ 5G, bearing model number SM-G986U. The model was spotted with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. For internals, it will bring 12GB RAM and pair it with up to 256GB of storage.
As for the chipset, the phone is being tipped to house the Snapdragon 865 SoC under the hood. However, it could be the Exynos 990 for regions outside the US. The listing also reveals benchmark scores, with the pre-production unit of the Galaxy S20+ 5G scoring 923 and 3,267 points in Geekbench 5’s single and multi-core tests.
As for other specs, the listing reveals that the non-5G variant of the Galaxy S20+ will sport a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display and will feature a quad-camera setup comprising one 64-megapixel, two 12-megapixel, and a ToF unit. For selfies, the phone will get a 10-megapixel camera on the front.
On the other hand, the S20 will skip the ToF module and bring with itself a 6.2-inch screen, 10-megapixel selfie lens, and a 4,000mAh battery.
Earlier, a leak had also revealed the specs of the S20 Ultra.
The S20 Ultra is being said to bring a 108-megapixel main sensor with 100x Space Zoom sat next to a 48-megapixel telephoto (10x optical), 12-megapixel ultrawide and ToF modules.
The high-end model is expected to get 12GB and 16GB RAM options paired three storage variants- 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The smartphone is being said to pack a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
