IPL 2020: David Warner On Mitchell Marsh’s Injury “Doesn’t Look Great”

Hyderabad skipper David Warner expresses concern over Mitchell Marsh’s injury. He feels unfortunate to have lost Marsh at the start of the tournament.

In the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), David Warner led-Hyderabad met Virat Kohli’s Bangalore. While Bangalore began their journey in the tournament with a win, Hyderbad stumbled to a 10-run loss. During the match, Hyderabad’s seamer Mitchell Marsh suffered an injury. In the post-match interview, David Warner expresses his concern over Mitchell Marsh’s injury and his return to the squad.

David Warner seemed concerned as he said that losing Mitchell Marsh so early in the tournament isn’t good. He further mentions that hope his Aussie teammate is doing okay but also confesses that it doesn’t look great. Warner adds that Marsh has got his X-Ray done and it’s not too bad.

The Hyderabad skipper said, “Losing Mitch (Marsh) early, hopefully, he’s okay, it doesn’t look great. A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight. He’s got to get an X-ray, hopefully, it’s not too bad. It doesn’t look great. Obviously, what you saw out there, it was quite painful, he can’t put any weight on it. Fingers crossed.”

Fort the unknown, Mitchell Marsh who came to bowl in the fifth over of the Bangalore’s innings twisted his ankle on the very second delivery. The determined bowler still kept bowling with excruciating  pain but eventually left the field.

Later during Hyderabad’s batting innings, Mitchell Marsh came to bat in on number 10 and he was visibility limping. However, he was sent back to the pavilion on the very first delivery. Thus, Hyderbad lost its first game in the tournament by 10 runs.
