India emerged as the champions at 2011 World Cup after defeating Sri Lanka. The historic moment completed 9 years as of today. Ardent fans, cricketers and other well-wishers have now taken to social media to once again congratulate the Indian cricket team on their historic victory. .Indian coach Ravi Shastri who was a commentator on that particular date at the match has also congratulated the players through a tweet.
The former cricketer cherished his memory of winning the 1983 World Cup and congratulated the team in the tweet including Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Shastri has also shared a video of the match’s last few moments including the one, the team holds the World Cup trophy.
Sadly, however, he failed to mention two of the most significant individuals here who made huge contributions to Team India’s historic win in 2011.
These two people happen to be none other than Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni themselves. This did not go well with Yuvraj, who replied to the tweet of Ravi Shastri by reminding him of the same matter with a sarcastic message saying, “Thanks senior! U can tag me and mahi also we were also part of it.”
On a side note, Ravi Shastri is officially the Indian cricket team’s head coach. Six years after Team India’s historic win, he was promoted to this post.
