Wishes Pour In For Sachin Tendulkar As BCCI Shares His ‘Glorious Knock’

To mark the occasion of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s 47th birthday BCCI shared a video of his ‘glorious knocks’ and wished have poured in the comment section from all over the world. Read below to know more.

Sachin Tendulkar turned 47 on Friday with wishes pouring in for the cricket legend from all parts of the country.  On the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) posted a tribute video on its official Twitter handle. The caption of the video reads, “As the Master Blaster @sachin_rt turns 47, we relive one of his glorious knocks against England in 2008. He dedicated this ton – 41st in Test cricket, to the victims of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.”

The current coach of the Indian cricket team Ravi Shastri was amongst the first to wish the God of cricket by tweeting, “Happy Birthday, Bossman. legacy you’ve left behind in the sport is immortal. God bless Champ.”

Even his former teammates namely- Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir and even boxer Vijendra Singh wished the batting legend on the occasion of his 47th birthday.

Speaking of Sachin Tendulkar, for his iconic cricketing career he has received many prestigious awards from the government of India. He is a recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna which he received in 1997 and he also has bagged Padma Shri and Vadmavibhushan awards in 1999 and 2008 respectively.

Sachin Tendulkar took retirement from cricket in November of 2013 leaving behind a legacy of records and setting a benchmark for generations to follow. Incidentally, the last Test match he played against the West Indies in 2013 was his 200th Test match which is an incredible way to bid goodbye to a remarkable career.

Tendulkar has played 664 international cricket matches in total scoring 34, 357 runs. In 2019, Sachin Tendulkar was inducted into ICC Cricket Hall Of Fame.
